My Favorite Workout Clothes

Hey Guys!

I’ll be the first one to tell you that me and exercising are not the best of friends.  That being said, I do try to go for a walk/jog with my cousin at least 3 times a week and attend a class on campus when ever possible.

The one thing that I’ve figured out is that wearing the right clothes when working out is important.  If you wear the wrong shoes then you are in trouble.  The same goes for the clothing you wear.  I love to wear crop leggings during most of the year, the exception being when it’s a little colder then I’ll wear either joggers or long leggings.  for tops I’ll usually wear a tank top, anything more than that and it gets to be way to much clothing on.  Again this has an exception, this is usually around January when we get our actual cold weather in and I’ll put on a hoodie.  Next, is usually my sports bra.  I’ll be the first to say that these don’t usually do much when your working out if you are a little more blessed on top than others.  So I recommend a High Impact if you have the same problems as I do.  I have several different ones at home that I use as my go to sports bras, including my Victoria Secret and Forever 21 ones.

That being said I do have my favorite ones to wear.  They may not be available for purchase anymore but I can link some that are like them.

Favorite Workout Bottoms:

Active Capri Yoga Pants – You can find these here.active-capri-yoga-pants

SALAR CAPRI in Charcoal Heather – You can find these here.   These are actually a pair that I own.  The fit and material of these capri’s are amazing!

Favorite Sports Bras

The ones below are the ones that I bought at the Victoria Secret Outlet.  Because why not get them on sale when you want to buy a new bra!

x354-q80  I love the fact that this one has the dual bra, this helps so much with support.

Favorite Shoes

I can’t recommend these shoes enough! These are the Excursion TR8, which I don’t think they are making anymore. I love the Saucony brand and have gotten these shoes for the last 6 years or so.  I have ones just like these and will be getting another pair soon as mine are almost done in. You can find some here.

Favorite Workout Tops:

These are the kind of tops that I wear on a regular basis, not just for working out but all the time.  Because these things are hella comfy, and usually super funny!

Well that’s it for this post.  I hope seeing what favorites I have, has given you ideas that working out doesn’t mean you have to look boring or be uncomfortable.  Also make it fun, workout with your friends.  My go to people are usually my best friend and my cousin.  Find that person that will help hold you accountable.

Until Next Time!

My Harry Potter Life

Have you ever wondered what your life would be like at Hogwarts? Well, Michelle over at The Writing Hufflepuff has created a new tag where you can find that out. If you’ve seen/done the My Life In Books tag, it’s like that but Harry Potter edition! It’s also fantastic timing as I’m two books through my 2016 Harry Potter reread.

HOW IT WORKS

Pick four books to predict your future and follow the instructions for each question.

MY FOUR BOOKS

  1. Recklessly Royal by Nichole Chase
  2. Oh. My. Gods. by Tera Lynn Childs
  3. The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
  4. #Nerd by Cambria Hebert

1. YOUR WAND- Open book 1 to a random page. The first noun you see will be what your wand is made of.

Okay, so my wand is made of jewels!  Not sure how this will work, but at least my wand will be pretty!

2. YOUR PET- Does book 2 have animals? One of those animals will now be your pet. If the book doesn’t have any animals, then I’m sorry but your pet-less.

I can’t actually remember if there are any animals in Oh. My. Gods. sooooo…. I guess I’m going pet less unless I can figure out if she does and update ya’ll!

3. YOUR HOGWARTS HOUSE- Open book 3 at a random page. Whatever House you’d think the character’s name you first see belongs to, is your House (woah that’s a weird sentence, hope that made sense).

Augustus Waters.  I can see Augustus being in Gryffindor, because of how brave he is facing all that he has with a brave face!  So I guess I’m in Gryffindor.

4. MAKE YOUR GOLDEN TRIO COMPLETE- Open book 4 at a random page. The first two names will be your best friends and complete your squad. If there’s only one name at said page, open another random page.

Romeo Anderson and Rimmel Hudson. Good lord I didn’t realize I’d end up with these two! I’m beyond excited.

5. YOUR HEAD OF HOUSE- Open book 1 at a random page. The first name you’ll see will be your Head of House.

David Rhodes. I think he’ll make a pretty good Head of House.  He’s extremely loyal to his friends and family, so I can see him defending his cubs against everything.

6. YOUR ‘DRACO MALFOY’- Naturally you’ll need your arch nemesis/school rival. Open book 2 at a random page, the first name you’ll see will be your enemy.

Griffin.

7. YOUR PATRONUS- Open book 3 at a random page. The first living creature you’ll see will be your Patronus.

Hazel Grace.  Love this.

8. WILL YOU WIN THE HOUSE CUP?- How many pages does book 4 have? That’s how many points you’ll House have at the end of the school year. If the book has more than 400 pages it will have won the Cup, congrats!

448 pages, We won the House cup! I can totally see Romeo and Rimmel both winning tons of points for the house.  Because who doesn’t love these two!

I TAG…

  • Anyone who wants to participate!

Well that was it with my Harry Potter Life.  Try it you never know what you’ll end up with.

Until Next Time!

Halloween Snack Ideas

Hey Guys!

How has ya’ll month been going? It’s been a crazy one for me, but I’ve enjoyed it.  Can ya’ll believe that Halloween is so close, I mean it’s like one week away!  Anyway I’ve decided to show ya’ll some easy Halloween treats that you can make that will wow everyone.

  1. Jalepeno Popper Mummiesjulia-halloween-recipes-jalepenio-popers

    Ingredients:

    10 jalepenos, halved

1 container of Pillsbury crescent rolls

    4 oz. cream cheese

5 oz. cooked chicken, finely chopped

    2 tbsp. seasoned bread crumbs

    1 small garlic clove, minced

    salt to taste

Candy eyeballs (usually available in local grocery stores during October)

Preheat oven to 375. Remove all seeds and white membranes from peppers (I recommend wearing gloves when doing this; the heat may burn your hands for a little while). Combine chicken, cream cheese, bread crumbs and garlic and mix well. Add salt to taste. Fill each jalapeno with stuffing. Open crescent rolls and slice long pieces of dough to wrap around the popper. Wrap, leaving enough room for the eyes. Bake for 18-20 minutes. Remove, let cool for two minutes, then place candy eyes on the poppers—feel free to use plastic googly eyes instead, just remember to remove them before eating! Serve poppers while hot.

  2. Pumpkin Patch Browniespumpkin-patch-brownies

    Ingredients –

    • 1 pan of brownies or package of chocolate snack cakes
    • Chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed (amount needed varies on how many your making – for a whole pan of brownies, you’ll probably use at least half a package)
    • 1 bag of mellowcreme pumpkins
    • chocolate frosting
For the pumpkin patch signs, you’ll need:
    • popsicle sticks (1 per brownie/cake)
    • mini popsicle sticks (4 per brownie/cake)
    • glue gun
    • black Sharpie marker
  3. FANTA JACK O’LANTERN FLOATS

vanilla ice cream                                                                                                                            2 liters of Fanta Orange soda

    • Once you have everything ready, start by decorating your plastic cups. If you don’t have any Jack O’Lantern beverage clings, not to worry! All you need is a permanent marker and you can draw on your own design. This would be a fun activity to let your little ones get involved and unleash their creativity!
    • Once your spooktacular cups are ready, pour a small amount of Fanta into the bottom of each cup.
    • Next add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Mmm…. lookin’ good!
    • Pour some more Fanta over the ice cream, and watch as some bubbly magic starts happening.
    • Insert a straw and start slurping that creamy, orangey goodness! It’s a handheld, drinkable, Jack O’Lantern that tastes just like a creamsicle!fanta-jack-o-lantern-floats-collagesteps
  4. Halloween Ghost Fruit Kabobs

    ghostkabob4You Will Need:

    Marshmallows

    Strawberries

    Melon (cut into cubes)

    Kabob Skewers

    Food coloring marker

1.For the marshmallows, use a black food coloring marker to draw a ghostly face onto each marshmallow. (This is a great task for older kids to help with!)  Let the marshmallows dry for a few minutes before using.

    2. Wash and cut the fruit into bite-sized pieces.  Add a strawberry, piece of melon and then a ghost marshmallow to the skewer.  Repeat the pattern until you are at the top.

Serve your fruit kabobs at a kids Halloween party, classroom celebration or as a fun afterschool snack.  These spooky ghost fruit kabobs are the perfect healthy Halloween snack that your littles are sure to love.

  5. HOCUS POCUS HALLOWEEN PUNCHhocus-pucos-halloween-punch-watermark

    Ingredients
    • 8 ounces V8 Peach Mango
    • 6 ounces Izze Peach
    • 1 scoop Mango Sorbet any brand
    Instructions
    1. In a glass of your choice pour in V8, then Izze Peach.
    2. Top punch with one scoop of sorbet.
    3. Serve immediately.

Well I hope you enjoyed this post and it’s given you some ideas on what you can take to your own Halloween party.  You can find things like this and much more over on pintrest.  That place is like a pot of gold of ideas just waiting for you to try and make them.

Until Next Time!

I’ve Been Sorted… Have You

Hi Guys!

Ok, so I know that I’m not the only one out there who’s a huge Harry Potter fan right?  I know that by my age most people would think I’d be over it, but they are wrong. There are still days that my sister, mom and I decide that we’re going to have a Harry Potter Marathon and start at the first movie and go on from there.  Hell there are times that we decide to read the books from start to finish just to see who will get done with them faster.

But I digress, I was on the Pottermore website recently and came across their new sorting quiz.  Now, I took their old one and ended up in Slytherin.  I was pretty happy with the sorting, but for my own curiosity I took it again.  And again… and a third time and the results of all three came to Ravenclaw.  I was super surprised with the sortings.  Not that there’s anything wrong with the Ravenclaw house but it surprised me.

Welcome to Ravenclaw

ravenclaw_crest

You probably know that some of Ravenclaw’s most renowned members include Gilderoy Lockhart and Luna Lovegood. But did you know Ravenclaw’s Grey Lady is the least talkative Hogwarts house ghost, or that Ravenclaw’s common room boasts the most stunning views of the castle grounds?

Now I also saw the sorting for the Newly discovered American School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, ILVERMORNY.  And as a cat who has always been way to curious for my own good, I got myself sorted there as well.  Because I know that being a non british citizen I can’t go to Hogwarts… But maybe they’ll I can do remedial courses at Ilvermorny! (I can hope right!)  Any way I got sorted into…

Welcome to Pukwudgie

puckwudgie

Named by James Steward, after the fiercely independent magical creature the Pukwudgie; Pukwudgie house is sometimes considered to represent the heart of a witch or wizard. It is also said that Pukwudgie favours healers.

I also got sized for my own wand!

Picture of wand
Cypress wood                                                     Phoenix feather core
12 ¾” in length                                                Surprisingly Swishy flexibility
Now if only I could get this wand made!
I also found out my Patronus!  I like him… I’d like ya’ll to meet Sonic!

So anyway I hope you enjoyed my little foray into the Magical world of J.K. Rowling and I hope to have inspired you to go take a look for yourself.

Halloween Costume Ideas

Hi Guys!

I’m not sure about you but I absolutely love Halloween.  One of my favorite things to do is dress up my furry babies. (ok, so one of them is like 9 but she’s still my baby!)  I have two chihuahua’s and they pretty much look adorable in just about anything.  Not to mention getting dressed up myself.  So I’ve come up with a list of some DIY Halloween costumes for both yourself and your furry babies!

So up first I’ve got some costumes that I found on Pintrest, I’m still undecided on what I’m going to be but I have the most fun looking for my costume!

  1. Ice Cream Cone:

White Shirt (You don’t have to use one like the picture but you have to admit the scallops look like an ice cream cone)Tan or light brown Dress Cardstock in Rainbow Colors (or felt which ever is easier)Fishing Line + Sewing Needle (or Hot Glue Gun)
    Scissors
    Red Balloon
    Regular Clear Tape
Stretchy Headband or Bobby Pins (for securing balloon to your head!)                              1. Cut out several sprinkles shapes from your various cardstock or felt colors (enough to go around the neckline of your shirt). Lay the sprinkles in the pattern you want to attach them and take a quick phone pic so you remember how it looks.
    2. I wanted to be able to re-use my shirt, so I sewed on my sprinkles. If you don’t care about re-using your shirt, you can hot glue them on… but here’s the method I used for mine! Thread a sewing needle with fishing line and tie a knot at the end. Thread it through the shirt and the sprinkle and back down through both two times, then tie a knot to secure. Repeat for all your sprinkles. If you want to get really fancy, you could also use fabric paint markers to paint criss-crosses like an ice cream cone on the skirt.
    3. To make the cherry, cut out a long stem shape from red cardstock. Partially blow up the red balloon and tie it. Fold a half-inch of the stem under and tape the new tab to the top of the balloon. If your stem needs extra support to stand up, cut a small strip of cardstock and tape one side on the balloon and one side on the stem.
    4. To secure the balloon cherry to my head, I wore an elastic headband and simply slipped the balloon’s tail under the elastic. It held really well. Alternatively, you could tie it to a plastic headband, or secure with several bobby pins.

The original post can be found here.

2. Bat:

Black Leggings                                                                                                                                  Black long sleeve shirt                                                                                                                         Pair of black shoes (I’d use a pair of converse for this… they’d be sooooo much more comfortable!)                                                                                                                                               a yard of black material: shape it like in the picture and then attach it to the sleves and back of your shirt.  You can either sew it on if you want to reuse your top or use a hot glue gun.

3. The PowerPuff Girls:

Depending on if you are doing this by yourself or as a group here’s what you’ll need:         Bubbles: A Blue dress and a black piece of material  to tie around your waist. A pair of white tights and some black shoes.  Then put your hair up in pig tails.                                 Blossom: A red dress and a black piece of material  to tie around your waist. A pair of white tights and some black shoes. Then you can either make a giant red bow or buy one.                                                                                                                                            Buttercup: A green dress and a black piece of material  to tie around your waist. A pair of white tights and some black shoes.

4. Mime:

This is one of those costumes you can throw together in almost no time at all.  I think the longest part will be doing your makeup.                                                                                                   For this you will need:                                                                                                                                    A pair of black pants or leggings                                                                                                                 A black and white striped shirt                                                                                                                   A pair of white gloves                                                                                                                              Black suspenders                                                                                                                                             A black hat

5. Nerds:

This is one of those costumes that you can have fun with you can go it alone or grab your friends.                                                                                                                                                        You’ll need:                                                                                                                                          Suspenders                                                                                                                                                  Nerd glasses with tape (or not if you prefer)                                                                                          A white shirt – the girls down below took it a step further by spelling their names out using the periodic table. This can be done with either a sharpie or a fabric paint pen.                                                                                                                                                        A pair of jeans or shorts

6. Starbucks Latte:

Ok, I’m not going to lie, I’ve tried to do this one…more than a few times, it’s harder than it looks. (My two sister’s are so much better at DIY’s than me… but I try!)  I’ve seen a few different tutorials on it and I think this one is by far the easiest one to accomplish. What I’m going to do is link you to the video that LaurDIY (she’s the one in the picture!) did explaining how she made this.  You can find her YouTube Video here.                                                                                       starbucks

7. Best Friends Necklace:

I have to admit this one is probably the easiest one to do….  All you really need to do is make the “Best Friend Charms” out of poster board and make a hole for the string to go through and you can pretty much wear whatever you want.

8. Boo from Monsters INC:

For this costume all you need is an over sized pink shirt, a pair of purple leggings and some white shoes.

9. Winnie the Poo:

I have to admit this one is kind of adorable.  You can even do this with a group if you want and get them to dress up too.  There’s even a pretty good chance you might have most of this outfit in your closet.

10. 1950s Greaser girl (Pink Lady!):

This is probably what I’m going to go with this Halloween, simply because I think it’s fun. Though probably not with the heels, have you ever tried walking around  in those!  This is also one of those simple to throw on because you have it all in your closet costumes.  You could even play around with the pieces and wear a skirt instead of pants or wear an all black top instead of stripes.  But you get the idea.

11. Where’s Waldo:

This is that costume that most people know who you are and the pieces are pretty easy to find in just about any closet.

12. Mary Poppins:

I love this idea and it’s pretty simple to accomplish.  One of my nieces was this last year and she was pretty darn adorable in it.  All you really need is a white button down with a black skirt, some black tights or leggings.  A red belt, a red bow tie, some black booties and a black hat, I’d use one of those smaller ones for a cute updated style.  Then don’t forget your accessories of a large bag (bonus if you have a carpet bag like hers!) and an umbrella.

13. Greek Goddess:

This has to be another of the easiest ones to throw together.  I love this one because instead of having you use a toga like costume it says to use an oversized T-Shirt that you cut the sleeves off of with a gold belt and some ivy in your hair.  Super simple to make.

14. Minnie Mouse:

Yet another Disney inspired outfit.  Minnie Mouse is a classic costume for girls of any age.  You don’t have to be a kid to wear it.  This costume has you in a red skirt, a black long sleeved shirt and some converse shoes.  Throw on some Minnie ears that comes complete with a bow and do your make up and you are ready.minnie-mouse

15. Supergirl:

I’ve always loved this idea.  It’s some thing that is pretty easy to put together too.  Especially if you have most of it in your closet already.  You can play around and do a black pencil skirt instead of pants make it as girly as you want.supergirl

And now for the Dog Costumes: (Mild disclaimer: You’re furry baby may or may not keep these on, it all depends on them.  Me I’ll be lucky if mine keep them on for pictures before shaking them off. :/ )

  1. Dog Football:

This is a super easy costume if you own a brown dog and are a sports enthusiast. Simply cut out strips of white felt to place on your dog’s back.

    • White felt
    • Velcro tape

2. Dog Martini:

Turn that cone of shame into a Martini Dog costume. All you need is:

  • A cone of shame
  • 3 Styrofoam balls painted like olives
  • 1 stick
  • 1 curly red ribbon

dog-martini

3. Sushi Dog:

Create a pup-filled sushi roll topped with shrimp, salmon, tuna, or another favorite filling. Just grab the following and get crafting:

  • Felt
  • Velcro
  • Stuffing
  • Scissors

4. Harry Potter Dog:

Your furry friend can go as the Boy Who Lived himself or another favorite character from this popular book series. Simply grab the following:

  • Small black cape
  • A children’s tie in maroon and gold (or another Hogwarts house’s colors)
  • A small pair of glasses

5. Ghost Dog:

This is great if you want to grab some pictures, not sure I’d recommend if you were going to walk you pet around.  But it is adorable.  All you need for this is an old sheet/ or white material, cut out a place for your pets snout, ears, and eyes.dog-ghost

6. Vampire Dog:

Oh, holy cuteness! I wonder how long it took to get this one amazing shot of this baby?  Anyway if you have this type of a well behaved furry friend then this would be a great costume for you pet.  All you need is a child’s cape and some felt or card stock fangs.

7. Mummy Dog:

I’m actually thinking of doing this one for my Chihuahua, Rose, provided I can get her to keep it on… Maybe I can get her to hold still for a picture before she takes it off.  All you need for this is some gauze to wrap around your pet.  Remember not to tighten it too much so that you’re pet can breath.dog-mummy

Well I hope I’ve inspired you and given you plenty of ideas for this Halloween.  If you decide to recreate any of these send me a picture of them on Twitter or Instagram @TabithaJeanett.  Don’t forget to follow me on here to get emails when I post a new blog and on social media to see what I’m up in my daily life.

So you’re Sick in College

Hey Guys!

So if there is one thing that college students and pretty much any young adult living away from home will all agree one is that being sick in a place where your mother isn’t there and you’re sick is hard.  In fact, I’d say that it was one of the hardest parts about living away from my family.  There was no one to call to bring me some soup, or tissues or pretty much anything when I got sick.

So I’m pretty sure that if ya’ll are anything like I was, and still am at time, you don’t even know what to do when you eventually get sick.  So I’ve put some tips together on what you can do if and when you get sick.

  1. Rest Up:

There is nothing that is better for you like rest when you’re sick.  I’m sure we’ve all been there, so no body will judge you if you decide to veg on the couch with Netflix running in the background.  Don’t push yourself, if you do you’ll end up sicker longer.

  2. Go to the Health Center:

When you’re sick… and I’m talking like really sick, you’ll know it.  This is the time that you need to go to the doctors.  You’re best bet is to go to the campus health center.  The health center will usually be the cheapest option for you to receive health care and also your quickest option because it’s also probably a short walk from your dorm. (If you end up here and you miss class don’t forget to get an excuse for your professors.)

  3. Take your medicines:

Now I’m probably not the only one that hates taking medicine.  But if you’re sick and you don’t take it then you’re just hurting yourself.  I like to keep things on hand to make it easier for me when I do happen to get sick.  I have a cabinet in my kitchen dedicated to medicines.  But I know that probably isn’t going to happen if you live in the dorm.  So what I suggest is keeping a shoebox or something like that filled with things that you might need.  Like cough drops, cold medicine, ibprofin or asprin, then you’ll have something just in case.

Now if you end up sick enough that you end up at the campus health center and they offer you medication… take it.  Don’t try and be brave and go with out.

  4. Don’t go to class:

No I’m not saying that you should begin to randomly ditch all your classes.  But you should take a day or two off if you’re sick.  Even if you only take one full day off your body will thank you for it.  And so will everyone else that you don’t get sick.                                                                                                                                                 Make sure that you text or email a friend and ask them if they can take notes and fill you in on what you are going to be missing.  And don’t forget to email your professor and let them know what’s going on.  You’re professor will generally be very understanding if you keep them in the loop.  They don’t usually want a sick student in the classroom anyway.

  5. Don’t forget to Eat:

If there is one thing I know it’s that when we’re sick we really don’t want eat.  I know I only want to sleep, so I tend to have to force myself to eat something.  But it’s not only eating that you have to remember, but also keeping yourself hydrated.  Whether it’s water, tea, or gatorade you need to be drinking something.  This is a time when even if you’ve been on a health kick that it’s ok to eat Ramen noodles 3 times a day.  Because you need something in your stomach and the liquid in the soup will keep you going.  This will also have the added benefit of keeping your energy levels up.

  6. Do something for you:

Alright, so if you are anything like me then when you skip a day of classes you end up getting extremely bored.  So with this in mind, do something for yourself.  If you’re going to be sitting on the couch anyway, rent a movie or find something on Vudu or Netflix that will keep you entertained, or if you’re strapped for cash like most of us then check out your local library or campus library. 10-1 they have some great finds that you can lose yourself in.  Do that face mask that you’ve been wanting to do.  This is a way to just slow yourself down and really rest while at the same time not being bored.

Hopefully, by the time your’re done reading this you’ll have some ideas on what to do just in case you get sick.

Until Next Time!

How To Not Go Crazy: During The Semester

Good morning guys!

Well here we are its the start (middle) of a new semester…. again. Here you are a month into the semester and you’re probably wondering what the heck you’ve gotten yourself into.  God only knows how many times I’ve asked myself the same question. (and questioned my sanity)  You’re also probably looking at all the homework that you have due, quizzes to take, and papers that you’re having to start to look at.  Know that you aren’t alone, we’ve all been there and probably are there with you.

Now that you know that you aren’t alone, here are some thing that you can do to feel more like yourself again, and less likely to want to be locked in a padded cell pulling your hair out.

Be Organized First

Don’t get me wrong, I’m just like everyone else and at the start of the year I love to go shop for the cutest organization stuff at Target, Walmart, and pretty much anywhere that sells them. But buying a planner doesn’t mean it will fill itself out.

But don’t worry, it doesn’t take much time to get everything organized.  Set aside one or two hours every week (I usually do this on Sunday, so that I have the upcoming week done) to write everything that needs to be done.  Now whether you do it by week, or month, this will help you feel on top of everything.

Schedule Some “You” Time

You need some you time.  This is seperate from time that you are doing your planner or homework.  This is when you take that time once a week to take a bubble bath (if you have your own bathroom), or read a book that isn’t one that is for class.  Go for a walk in the park, or take a nap and catch up on that sleep that you’ve been missing out on.  What you do during your “you” time is all up to you.  This is your time to unwind and de-stress.

Try Something New

Has there ever been anything that you wanted to try.  Is there a new fitness class that you’ve had your eye on.  Do it.  This is something that you can do that isn’t really school related… besides the fact that happens to be at your school gym.

Hey… no said that you couldn’t take advantage of all those gym classes that you would be spending a lot of money on somewhere else for free… especially since it’s already being charged to your tuition.

Have a Netflix Day by yourself… or with friends

Netflix.  This one word is the cause of all that distraction that you get when you really should be working on that paper that is due in two days.  But think about it like this, if you do that paper now then you have two full days to binge on a show that you’ve been dying to catch up on.

Don’t procrastinate and you can have an entire weekend sometimes to have a friends movie weekend!  Do it… watch all 10 seasons of Supernatural or 7 seasons of Gilmore Girls in preparation of the new episodes Gilmore Girls: A year in the Life.  It doesn’t have to be something that you can’t do, just be responsible and do your school work first, because having to call home because you flunked out isn’t a phone call you want to do.

Join a Club

This one is self explanatory.  There are a whole bunch of clubs that are recruiting at anyone point in time.  I had a blast with CAB (Campus Activities Board) helping out at events and working tables.  I was also in the History Club, the Spanish Club and the Catholic Student Organization.

These clubs are something that can keep you busy and help you out in the long run.  This can be a way to make new friends and to have something to do between your classes and assignments.  Also, remember that when you are looking for scholarships clubs and activities look great on the application.

Scope Out Your Campus

There’s knowing where your classes are and then there is knowing your campus.  If there is one thing that I’ve learned during my semesters at the University is that there is always another way to find something.  Don’t get comfortable in the way you go to class.  Find new ways there, you never know what you’ll find.

I was going to school for almost a full year before I found out we had a chicken/burrito place in this one building that I had been taking most of my classes in.  Then low and behold I took a different route to my next class and ended up following my nose to food.

Reward Yourself

Ok, I’m not saying that you go out and spend all your money on a $300 purse (but hey you do you), but going out to get your nail color changed is still something that you can look forward to every now and then.

Decide if you want to go on a mini shopping spree with your friends, or if you want to go watch a movie.  Whatever it is decide and work towards that goal.  Get what you need to done and then you have a reward to look forward to.

Create a bucket list

This is something that can be fun for you… maybe you and your BFF can create one and switch which one you pick one to do each week… or month.  Now you can do this in different ways.  You can create a semester bucket list, or a monthly one,a yearly one or even do one for the different seasons.

This is something that you can put down all the things that you want to accomplish before a certain time.  Heck… Create one of each.  If you need some ideas go onto pintrest and check out what they have on their lists.  Make it fun, make it silly or make it serious.  This is something for you.  Here are some 10 ideas to put on your bucket list just to get you started.

  • Spend the night in a Tree House
  • Take a Picture with every State Sign in America (bonus points if you get Alaska and Hawaii)
  • Volunteer in another Country
  • Carve your name in a tree
  • Run a 5K
  • Go to Canada
  • Visit all 7 Continents (Go big or go home right!)
  • Go into an air port and buy tickets for a random flight
  • Rent a beach house/Mountain Cabin for the whole summer
  • Drive down Route 66

Well that’s all I have for today.  I hope this has talked you down off your ledge and has given you that little bit of calm.

Until Next Time!
