Summer Book Haul

Hi Guys!

Well I figured since I’m doing a back to school haul both for clothes and supplies, that I would do a book haul for those books that I’ve purchased since May.  Sooooo…. this post will cover May, June, July, and August.  This is kind of exciting for me, I love books, I love looking at new books, old books… pretty much any type of book.

May

  • Never Been Series by C.M. Kars – This series was amazing… I literally binge read these books over a two day period.  I think I slept a total of 5 hours both days so I could stay up and read all three books.
  • Is it Night or Day? by Fern Schumer Chapman – So during last semester one of the classes that I took was a Holocaust class.  While some of the readings  that we had to do were hard to take, I’ve always been interested in the subject.  I actually heard of this book long before I took the class and it took me a while before I could find it.  It was on a show from the OWN network called Lost and Found.  This book was amazing and I recommend it to you all to read.
  • Holding Her Hand by Tammy Falkner – Soooo… this is book 9 in a series called the Reed Brothers.  I hadn’t even realized that it had come out when I stumbled across it.
  • Yes, You by Tammy Falkner – Yet another book from the Reed Brothers series.
  • Always, April by Tammy Falkner – And another… What can I say? It was a busy semester and I forgot to check on what was coming out.

June

  • #SWAG by Cambria Hebert – So this book was amazing.  It is one of the GearShark Series books.  This book series is a spin off of the Hashtag series.  You even get some of the same characters (Ok, more than some… pretty much all of them.)
  • Up in Flames by Abbi Glines – This book is the last installment of her Rosemary Beach series.  I actually put off reading this one because I didn’t want it to end.  But I finally read it.  All that’s left from this series is a novella that will be coming out… soon I hope.
  • Once Upon a Time In Scotland by Kam McKeltar – This is the last book in the  MacLarens of Balmorie series.  I hadn’t even realized it was out when I was looking for something new to read and found it.

July

  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by  Seth Grahame-Smith, Jane Austen – Well… I decided to buy this after I finally got around to watching the movie.  I loved the movie and new that the book was probably better so I got it.
  • Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany, Jack Thorne – Do I even have to say why I bought this.  While I wasn’t entirely happy with the way it was written I did enjoy it.  Be on the look out for my review that should be coming out soonish.
  • The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh – I actually got this one because I’ve been seeing it everywhere and I’ve read some pretty good reviews on it.

August

  • The Shelf Life of Happiness by David Machado – I haven’t actually gotten around to reading  this one yet.  It looked pretty good so I thought I’d try it out.  I’ll let y’all know how it was and will probably do a review on it.
  • Under the Lights by Abbi Glines – I got this one to keep going in her Field Party series.  She is such an amazing writer that you should all check out!

So these are the books that I bought during my summer vacation…. I think.  I’m not going to lie the majority of them were bought so that I could keep up on a few of the series that I read.  I got so behind on reading during the semester that it wasn’t funny and a few of the book series that I read released some new additions that slipped by me.  So I used the summer to catch up on them.  Of course now that a new semester has come again, we’ll see how much time I have for reading… things that I want.

Until Next Time!

Back to School Haul: School Supplies

Hi Guys!

So here I am again with another Back to School Post.  Well technically part two of my Back to School Haul.  I don’t know about you guys but my favorite part about back to school is the shopping.  Whether its for school supplies or for clothes.  I just love shopping… for pretty much anything really.  So when it’s time for school or pretty much anytime I need something I love getting new supplies.

This year I was pretty much just supplementing what I had last year with some new stuff.

This was by far my best find… I got it at a garage sale for 10 cents! I just couldn’t pass it up.  Even though I have like 10 other backpacks.

img_1795

This is the results of me going into Target.  A planner, some paper, some erasers, a pencil case and some stickers… that I really didn’t need but got anyway.

img_1803

Next up are my pens and pencils.  I got the Vera Bradley ones at the outlet…On sale! and the other’s were bought at a store called 5 Below.

I also bought these at 5 Below… You never know when you are going to find good brand supplies at discounted prices.

These are the last two items that I bought for school.  A stapler and a cooling station for my Macbook.

For the most part I really didn’t need that many things.  Oh don’t get me wrong, I still bought a lot.  But not as much as I originally would have if I didn’t always keep supplies on hand.

Well that’s it for my back to school hauls.  Until Next Time!

Back to School Haul: Clothing & Accessories

Hi Guys!

So here I am again with another Back to School Post.  I don’t know about you guys but my favorite part about back to school is the shopping.  Whether its for school supplies or for clothes.  I just love shopping… for pretty much anything really.  But my favorite part of it is seeing what I can find great deals on.  One of my favorite places to shop is the Outlets in San Marcos, Tx.  (Although, I am waiting on the ones that they are building in Robstown, Tx to finish up so I can check those out.)  I’ve been looking at different posts, vlogs and main channel videos on YouTube the last couple of weeks and I love to see what other people have gotten and what they buy for their school semesters.  My only problem was this year I started super late… like barely a week before school starts. So here is what I decided to get for my back to school clothing.

Bottoms:                                                                                                                                                     This first pair of jeans is by far the best find I’ve ever had.  I love the Michael Kors line.  But as a full time college student I very rarely can afford anything from it.  But Imagine my surprise when I was shopping at a store called Ross Dress for Less and I found not only Michael Kors clothes… but clothes in something other than a size 2… Not that there is anything wrong with being a size 2 but I rarely find anything outside that size.  I myself am a size 12 and it’s hard to find clothes that fit my body and look good on it.  I was ecstatic to find these jeans.  This should be a less to all… Never think you can’t find Designer clothes at discount prices!

This next pair of Jeans I bought at Lucky Brand Jeans.   It was so soft and I pretty much fell in love with them.  While there I also bought a pair of shorts.

I also bought a pair of shorts at American Eagle.  They are super comfy, so I’m pretty excited for them.

Tops:

Now for once I didn’t buy that many tops.  I have two favorites that I bought during this trip.  One came from Lucky Brand and the other from Victoria Secret.

One of the trends that I’ve started loving are the bodysuits, that according to my sister are pretty much just adult onsies,  I’ve been looking at them at different stores and finally found some that I wanted at Cotton On.  This store is great, the prices are reasonable and the clothes are amazing.

Dresses:

I actually got me a couple of dresses for school.  Two that I bought were from American Eagle, and one was from Cotton One.  I’ve been enjoying wearing T-Shirt dresses so when I found this one for a really good price I jumped on it.

Cotton On                                                       American Eagle                                  American Eagle
Shoes:

Pretty much the only shoes that I bought for me this year… so far are a new pair of Reef flip flops.  I looked for some new Tennis Shoes but I still haven’t found a pair that I like.  I might have to check out Academy and see what they have.

Accessories:

So…. I’m going to come out and say it… I have a problem. I love purses.  And yep, I bought myself a purse as a congrats for getting into the masters program.  I got this one at Vera Bradley… (Don’t worry it was on sale… like 70% off of the original price!) I’ve been wanting one of these for a while and now I have one.

I also grabbed me a new mini cross body at Aéropostale.  This one is great, it has two zippered pockets and a pocket in the middle of the two zippered ones.  It is also in a brown leather that will sort of match my riding boots that I already have.

Well that’s it for for the Clothes and accessories part of the haul.   Up Next school supplies!

Until Next Time!

What I’m Reading!

Hi Guys!

Well here we are near the end of the month and I’m looking forward to the weekend.  Why you ask… well that would be cause today was my first day of Graduate school.  So I’m going to be doing less reading that I want and more of what the professors want.  I just found out that I’ll have to be reading 2 books a week, 1 for each class.  But that’s ok…. I guess. I’ll just have to find ways and time to sneak in my books.

So onto my list of what I’m reading right now.

To read list:

So this my what I’m reading and what is on my list to read next.  This is on top of the 17 books that I have to read for my two grad classes this semester.  This should be fun right!

What are you reading right now, or what is on your to read next list?  Leave a comment down below and let me know.  And if you liked this post please subscribe so that you won’t miss any of my blogs on books and other goodies that are to come.

Anyway, that is it for now.  Until Next Time!

Things to do before the New Semester Starts

How to prepare

Hi Guys!

And so it begins, the start to another wonderful semester…. Or not depending on the person.  I don’t know about you, but to me it always seems like the semester sneaks up on me. And before I know it either winter or summer break is over.

Whether you are beginning this process before classes start or during the first week, if you are like me then you have already begun to think of everything that can go wrong for you during the school year.  Are you going to get good grades? Is the professor nice? Will the professor be helpful? Are you going to be so bored that you’re going to fall asleep in class?

These are thoughts that every student has at some point or another during their academic journey, but hopefully by the time you are done reading the tips I’ve got for you, you’ll have a game plan that will have you off and running with a good start.

Here are some of the things that I do in order to feel like I’ve got things in place so that I’m not running around after the semester begins as well as some things that you can do if this is your first semester at college/university (or not… I still do some of these things every semester).

  1. To get your books… Or wait for them… This is the question                                                 Now there are two ways this can go.  I’ve always been one to order my books before the semester starts and have them ready for classes.  But I’ve also done this and had professors say that we wouldn’t need that book after all… after we’ve opened it of course.  So here’s what I recommend for you to do, either email your professor prior to the first week of classes and find out if you really are going to need those books. Or wait until the first day of classes before you hit order.  (I recommend Amazon for this because they usually have not only the cheaper price but also can get it to you within a week.)Another way to get these books at a discounted price is to get them used.  Sometimes you can even get them for pennies rather than buying a brand new book for upwards of $50.  Or find out by looking on the bulletin boards if someone is selling the book you need.  Sometimes these will be loose leaf books, because as you will find out if you buy new, the school and bookstores who buy back books will not take these back unless they are unopened.
  2. How are you going to take your notes?                                                                                        One big thing that you will have to decide (probably after the first day of class) is in what way are you going to be taking your class notes.  There are two…ish ways to do this.  The first way would be to take your notes by hand (I happen to have a professor that is so anti-technology that she doesn’t even allow them in her classroom). The second what would be if you are going the technology route and use either a laptop or tablet for note taking.  I myself have used all three… sometimes in the same class depending on what’s going on.The last way would be to have a recorder going during class so that you can take notes with either of the two previous ways mentioned and also have the lecture saved so that you can go back to it at a later date.  (I recommend asking for permission before attempting this, there are some professors who do not like to be recorded and it’s better to ask and be told no than to do it and be discovered and kicked out of class.)If you have never taken a college or university class, then I suggest talking to your peers and finding out how they take their notes and finding a way that works best for you.
  3. Getting yourself Organized                                                                                                   The one thing I can’t suggest enough is to get a planner, or to use some sort of app on your phone if that is more your thing, I myself use both, and use it to get organized. Now I know that using a planner isn’t for everyone, but I can’t tell you enough about how much I love mine.  I keep absolutely everything in it.  Work – both of my jobs, school – homework assignments and quizzes and exams, my blog – when and what I’m going to post.  Everything has a color and keeps me organized.  I recommend getting one even if you start out slowly and just use it to contain the mountains of homework that will be assigned to you.  This is the one that I use… I found it at Walmart for a grand total of $5.50. This is an amazing price, so know that you don’t have to spend a whole bunch to get a functional planner.  You can find it here.                                                                                                                               planner                                         Getting organized with a planner either in physical form or on your phone is just one way that you can keep your school work organized.  This leads me straight into the next thing for you to do.
  4. Read your Syllabus/Organize your Assignments, Quizzes and Exams                               I’m not sure how your classes start, but mine usually begins on a Wednesday so depending on if you have MWF classes or T-Th classes you usually only have one or two days of classes during the first week.  So the first thing that I do is to look at all of my syllabus’ after the professor hands them out (or print them out if they don’t hand them out in class… there are those professors so prepare) and begin to make my list of when everything is due.  I got this idea of a semester assignment spreadsheet from here. I’ve used this method for the last 3 semesters and it has literally saved me from heartache and tears. (with the exception of when the professor changes the syllabus at the last minute.)Now after you have gotten everything listed on your assignment spreadsheet (to differentiate between classes I’ve color coded mine to match the same color in my planner), The next thing that you should do is to read each of your syllabuses in depth.  There is usually something that is hiding in there that you will be wondering about sometime.  One thing to remember is that it is your responsibility to read the syllabus, your professor might… might… go over a few points on it, but they won’t always.  So read it over and if you have any questions ask them either at the end of class or during office hours.
  5. Talk to your Professors                                                                                                                      Now I’m not sure about your classes but when I was in freshmen classes the student population was huge in them. Finding a way to make yourself heard and known in that type of a class is hard, but it is doable. This may seem like a stupid suggestion, but get to know your professors.  Go up to them and introduce yourself.  This gets you off onto the right foot in distinguishing you from the other students and gets you fresh on their mind. Go to their office hours, talk to them.  This is a way to get your professors to not only remember your name, but this gives you a chance to ask question and when they are looking at participation in class, this gets marked as participation. This could be what is standing between you getting an A or a B because believe it or not participation is a big factor for professors.  This is also going to give you a leg up when those exams hit or if you have that paper due and you aren’t exactly understanding the assignment.
  6. Get to know your fellow students… AKA Find a Study Buddy                                                  Ok, I understand that for a lot of people this isn’t a big thing to them, but trust me when I say that finding someone to study with and share in the mutual grief will help you in the long run.  Not only is a study buddy someone that you can do things with for class but you could end up with a lifelong friend.  (This is how I met my friend Jaxine and my friend Rosie… both of whom I am still friends with 4 years later!)Now I can understand that it’s hard for some to just walk up to people and be like “Hi! Let’s be friends!” but you can certainly find an easier way.  For example, make small talk with your table or desk buddy. Or ask them if they want to start/join a study group with you.  Even creating a Facebook page for the class or group.  Or if you’re like me, I pretty much stayed quiet during about half of the semester until I finally got nosy enough to ask the student in front of me what book she was reading.  That was the start of my friendship with Jaxine.  As I’m a huge bookworm if you’re reading a book, you are someone I want to get to know.Another thing that you can share with a study buddy would is the class readings.  Depending on what kind of class you are in there are times when you can have upwards of 50-100 pages of readings a night per class.  One thing that my friend Jaxine and I did was to share the readings.  For example, I would do pages 1-25 and she would do 26-50. Or if the readings were coming out of several books, we would split the books.Lastly, I know that asking for someone’s phone number right away is sometimes awkward, but asking for their email or Facebook messenger as a way to get a hold of them for class.  This is also a great way to get notes to each other very quickly.

So I’m a little late getting this post up, it was supposed to be up on Friday… but I was out of town and didn’t have my laptop with me.  Anyway, School for me starts on Wednesday August the 24th.  I’ll be starting my 1st year in the Masters Program.  I’m a bit scared and nervous, but I’m also excited.

Well that’s it for now, I hope your semester starts of great.  Have a great day!

How do you usually prepare for a new semester? Let me know down in the comments!

Until Next Time!

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child

HP and the cursed childHi Guys! Welcome back to my Booksday! Wednesday.  Today I’m doing a Review over Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

*Spoiler alert! There will be quotes and parts of the book in this review!

Reviewer: Tabitha
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany & Jack Thorne
Series: Harry Potter

Publication Date:
Genres: Fantasy, YA, Fiction, Plays

Book Synopsis: The Original can be found here.

Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne and John Tiffany, a new play by Jack Thorne, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series and the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage. The play will receive its world premiere in London’s West End on July 30, 2016.

It was always difficult being Harry Potter and it isn’t much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.

While Harry grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes, darkness comes from unexpected places.

Okay! Lets start with the obvious.  This is not a book.  This is in fact a bound version of the script of the play.  I’ve had so many people that I’ve talked to complain about it.  I listen of course, and then simply reply… it could have been written in Greek on a napkin and I still would have gotten it and learned Greek just to read it.  I’ve actually read something similar before when one of my shows was canceled (The Nine Lives of Chloe King) and all they had out was the show manuscript.  It’s this simple.  If you want to know what’s going on… If you really are a fan, then you will read it.  Really and truly it only took me about 10 pages before I became so used to the play script that  I didn’t even notice it anymore.

Now with that said I’ll move on.  I love the little bits of the characters that we get to know in this.  Which are a grown up Harry, his son Albus Severus, and his best friend Scorpius Malfoy.  These are pretty must the main characters with a few more thrown in here and there.  That being said, I do wish we could have gone more into their school years beyond the very brief glimpse we get to see.  There were so many characters that I wish we could have seen more of and gotten to know a lot better.

Grown Up Harry seems like he is overworked and not sure how he got there.  He also seems to be having problems connecting with his youngest son.   Not sure where he went wrong with this one, and saying and doing things that he may or may not mean at the time.

“You know what? I’m done being made responsible for your unhappiness. At least you’ve got a dad. Because I didn’t, okay?”

“And you think that was unlucky? I don’t.”

“You wish me dead?”

“No! I just wish you weren’t my dad.”

“Well, there are times I wish you weren’t my son.”

— Harry & Albus Potter

I just about cried when I read this part.  No, I know I had tears coming down.  I mean sure almost immediately GU Harry tried to retract his words, but from the point of view of his son it was already too late.

“So what would you like me to do? Magic myself popular? Conjure myself into a new house? Transfigure myself into a better student? Just cast a spell, Dad, and change me into what you want me to be, okay? It’ll work better for both of us.”

— Albus Potter

The heartbreaking parts of this story seem to come and go but they always made me tear up.  It gets to the point where Harry does something drastic and ends up alienating his son even more.

“I thought for a long time I wasn’t a good enough dad for you because you didn’t like me. It’s only now I realize that I don’t need you to like me, I need you to obey me because I’m your dad and I know better. I’m sorry, Albus. It has to be this way.”

— Harry Potter

But GU Harry finally gets it.  And does what he has to to make sure that everything is alright in the end.

“Love blinds. We have both tried to give our sons, not what they needed, but what we needed. We’ve been so busy trying to rewrite our own pasts, we’ve blighted their present.”

— Harry Potter

With Albus Severus you see a young boy who is no doubt feeling like he is in the shadow of his father’s fame and resenting him for it.  And it seems like no matter what he does all they do is compare him to his father.

“I’m just asking you, Dad, if you’ll — if you’ll stand a little away from me.”

“Second-years don’t like to be seen with their dads, is that it?”

“No. It’s just — you’re you and — and I’m me and —”

“It’s just people looking, okay? People look. And they’re looking at me, not you.”

“At Harry Potter and his disappointing son.”

— Albus & Harry Potter

All he wants is to make a name for himself without it being linked to his father.  But no matter what he seems to do, he is always linked to him.  And lets not forget his friendship with a Malfoy.  I’m not sure who was more surprised by this his dad or us.  The one thing that I don’t think that Albus really ever understood… maybe not even at the end was that for all the adventures that Harry got up to when he was younger he never went looking for them.  They just always seemed to find him.  But what happened with Albus and Scorpius happened because they went searching and looking to be heros.

Scoripus Malfoy is an enigma.  I never thought he’d turn out like this when I read the final chapter of the Deathly Hallows.  I pretty much assumed that he’d be a carbon copy of his father… and grandfather.  But he was so much more.  I think he was actually my favorite character in this adaptation.  He also made a pretty good friend.  Well at least one that followed and did what he was told until the point where he didn’t.  Like when he and Albus were supposed to not be friends.

“I can’t, okay?”

“You can’t what?”

“Just — we’ll be better off without each other, okay?”

— Albus Potter & Scorpius Malfoy

He even realizes when he should do something even though he’s got it better but the world didn’t.

“The world changes and we change with it. I am better off in this world. But the world is not better. And I don’t want that.”

— Scorpius

But Scorpius had some great lines… one of my favorites was this one.

“My geekness is a-quivering.”

— Scorpius

Grown up Draco… No here’s a side of him we’ve never seen before.  He is finally not just a carbon copy of his father.  The only thing he knows is that he loves his son,  and will do anything he can to help him.

“… And being alone — that’s so hard. I was alone. And it sent me to a truly dark place. For a long time. Tom Riddle was also a lonely child. You may not understand that, Harry, but I do …”

— Draco Malfoy

Severus Snape showing up here was a surprise… but a happy one.  Well at least for me.  He was one of my favorite characters in the original books.  The small part he had here was a great one.  Once again Snape does what is right and honorable for the world.

“Strange, isn’t it? What comes from within. You need to run. I will keep them at bay for as long as I can.”

“Thank you for being my light in the darkness.”

“Tell Albus — tell Albus Severus — I’m proud he carries my name. Now go. Go.”

— Severus Snape & Scorpius Malfoy

Overall, I loved it.  But I can understand why some of the fans were upset by it.  This was a great read for me and one that I recommend for everyone to try and read.  It may not be for everyone but if you can stick it through then I think you’ll end up liking it a little bit.  I hope you enjoyed my review.

Well that’s it for today. Until Next Time!

River Trip June 2016

Hi Guys!

So, I’ve watched for years as my sister and her husband went on vacation to the Frio River in Concan, Texas.  I’ve always wanted to do this but never a) had the money or b) been invited.  But this year both my friend Jaxine and I were invited to go.  At first, I wasn’t sure about going but in the end I decided to go.  A grande total of five days and four nights up in the hill country and it was a blast.  This was an experience that was amazing and we had a blast.  And I for one can’t wait until next time.

Like a sticker I picked up in a shop said:

The views from the car are just as amazing as just walking down the road!

And just look at this water! It was so cold… but also so amazing!

Anyway I hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Until Next Time!

Aspyn Ovard Subscription Box Unboxing

Hi Guys!

So I’m super excited.  My Aspyn Ovard subscription box finally came in.  Welcome to my unboxing of it!

When I first got the box I noticed it was bigger than I had though it would be, especially since I only got the $15 one.  I’m actually thinking about getting her VIA big box next time, if only just to see what’s in it.

Here is a full view of every thing that is in my box.

Watermelon Slushie Recipe – I love to try new things so this recipe is going to be amazing in the summer heat!

Buddy Scrub Gift Voucher – A $10 voucher for a body scrub… sounds like fun.

Not Your Mothers: Beach Babe Texturizing Hair cream – I’ve used this brand before, though not this product.  I’m looking forward to seeing how it works with my super thick hair.

Pineapple Ice Tray – I’m super excited to try this out.  I think I might use it to make frozen yogurt pineapples.

Pixi Lengthy Fiber Mascara – I love trying new beauty products, so this new mascara is going to be fun.

Crayola Fine Line Markers + Art Print – I have to admit this was the first thing that I saw when I opened the box.  I love to color (even at 30!).

Coalion Hot & Cool Pore Pack Duo (Deluxe) – I’m not sure exactly what to think (or do for that matter) with this product.  I think a little more research is in order.

Kitsch Patch Sticks – this patch is a fully vegan stick on patch that you can pretty much put any where you want to.

Aspyn Ovard Multi Chain anklet – This is in a gold tone.
Aspyn Ovard Pineapple Earrings – these earrings are in a gold tone.

Zoya nail polish and Naked Manicure clear Coat – The only name I could find on this one was Aspyn Ovard… So I’m guessing that this color was made specifically for her boxes.  Have to admit I love it.  It’s a mix between a coral and pink color.

Well that was everything in My Summer Essentials Asypn Ovard Subscription box, I hope you enjoyed it.

Until Next Time!

For my first official Booksday post, I’m posting a book review over # Nerd by Cambria Hebert.  This book series has dominated my reading life for just over 8 months now… pretty much since I read the first book last year.  I got the Stats for this off of Goodreads.  I’ve also linked what I could so that you can find the book, author and series. Book Synopsis: original can be found here.

Two people from completely different worlds are about to be thrown together…

In more ways than one.

She wants to keep her scholarship. He wants to stay on the team. An awkward alliance doesn’t even begin to cover Rimmel and Romeo’s relationship.

But that’s about to change.

It starts with a dare. An initiation. A challenge.

Quickly, it turns into more. But when you’re a victim of your status, there is no room for anything real. The rules are clear and simple.

Stick to your circle.

And never fall in love with anyone on the outside.

This is a classic story line that has the popular boy falling in love with the Nerd.

Rimmel Hudson is your stereotypical nerd who gets good grades and tries to go unnoticed.  She gained a full ride to Alpha University and moved from her home state of Florida to Maryland where the school is located.  She volunteers at the local animal shelter and is studying to become a veterinarian.  The only thing that she wants to graduate and to get into Vet school.  Then comes the call from the Dean that in order to keep her scholarship she has to tutor the star of the football team.  Basically, her worst nightmare.  Her plans, make sure she can keep her scholarship by making sure Romeo passes, keep everyone at bay, graduate and get into Vet school.  Not on her agenda falling for the popular Alpha male of the campus.

Roman “Romeo” Anderson is your typical Alpha male who is the big man on campus and the one that everyone either wants to be or wants to be with.  Romeo is the quarterback of the Universities football team the Alpha U Wolves and as of this semester is rushing the super exclusive fraternity Alpha Omega because to him its the stepping stone that will eventually lead to him making it to the NFL.  The only problem with his plans… his grades suck.  The solution… Get a tutor.  His plans get his grades passing, get into Alpha Omega, and get into the NFL.  What he didn’t plan for was falling in love with the Nerd he had to use to get what he wanted.

Overall, I loved this story.  To some it may seem a bit cliche but it was amazing and done in a way that it kept you guessing.  This book is for the most part very easy to follow, and its not often that you’re stumped about anything in the book.  It was also a very easy read, I picked it up and read it in probably less than a day.  I felt like I had to keep reading, that I had to find out what was going to happen next.  The one thing that I wish was that it was longer, I’m going to admit to a bit of a book hangover when I finished it.  But Cambria had the next books out soon enough that I was happy when the next one came out.  Now I read the books and have the audible versions that I listen to on long drives.

Now this book is only the first in a series and there are two more books that feature Romeo and Rimmel exclusively with one more coming out soon.  This is not a series that I would recommend to be read out of order, but if you happen to pick up one of the other books first, while you might get confused things do tend to be explained where you can follow it until you can read the other books.  However, I would recommend this book and its series to anyone who loves a good read.  Especially an indie read, from an author and writer who loves her readers and the stories as much as Cambria Hebert does.

***On that note however, I don’t recommend this book for those younger than 15 or 16 due to sexual content. It’s not that explicit in this book but there are several scenes that are touch and go.

Well, That’s it for today.  Until Next Time!

Booksday!

Hi Guys!

So as I’m trying to figure out what days I will be posting what things I’ve realized that alot of what I’m doing these days is read.  Whether it’s a new book that I ran across, or a book that’s been out for a while, but I haven’t gotten a chance to read yet or an old favorite that I’m re-reading, or even a Book Review for a book that I’ve read.  I’ve got them all.

So I’ve decided that Wednesdays will be my Booksday.  This will be when I post on what I’m currently reading.  Whether it falls into any of these categories if it’s about books it will be done on Wednesdays.

Hope you enjoy the coming books!

Until Next Time!
