National Pet Parents Day

Hey Guys!

I know I’m not the only one out  there who has pets that are more like your babies than animals… especially the way you treat them.  Right now I have two.  A 1/2 Chihuahua 1/2 poodle named Bella and a 1/2 Chihuahua 1/2 something else (you can tell she isn’t full blooded because her nose is way to short) named Rose.  (No they weren’t named after the twilight characters.  Rose’s name came with her and Bella was named by my uncle when he laughingly said that we should name her Taco Bella because he called my other dog Taco Bell, his name was actually Gizmo)

Today is National Pet Parent’s day, it is held on the last Sunday of April, so I’m giving a shout out to all the Pet Parents out there.  Keep loving your babies like you are!

Make Up things I Suck at

Hey Guys!
So I’ve been doing more with my make up lately… definitely a lot more than I’ve ever done before.  I’ve learned more about what to do with what and what goes with what.  I love buying and trying new things and learning how to do them (YouTube is amazing for this!).  But there are also some things about me that don’t change and there are many things that I’ve learned I just suck at doing.  So below are a few of those things that no matter what I can’t seem to get right.
  1. Winged Liner… or Liner of any kind                                                                            You know I think this is one of those things that you either can do or you can’t.  I have tried so many different hacks and I never seem to get it… I either look like a raccoon or there’s nothing there.  There are times that I think oh yea I’ve got this and I can get one eye to come out semi okay… then go and try the other one and end up having to take off all my eye make up.  I’ve just given up on it… If I want it done I’ll just wait til my sister can do it for me or I’ll just go and get it done.
  2. Creating a more than one color Eye shadow Look… or you know just putting it on in general                                                                                                      I know I’m not the only one who will sit for hours watching YouTube videos in the hopes that some of their genius will rub off on me.  In moments of grandeur I’ll decide that it doesn’t look so hard and attempt some of the looks I see… notice how I said attempt.  Yea… it usually doesn’t end to well. I basically end up looking like a clown or sometimes I swear it’s worse.    All I know is that the smokey eyes is just way to hard for me so I know not to attempt it anymore.  Besides have you ever tried following a tutorial for beginners?  I have, I’m apparently not even a beginner… I’m like a toddler.
  3. Cleaning Makeup brushes… sponges… or my utensils…                                          Ok, I’ll admit that this isn’t something that I really suck at, but it’s just something that I rarely do… usually I use my beauty blender.  It should probably be cleaned too but I’m pretty lazy about it.  Logically, I know that I really should wash them… but I really would be doing everything but that.  Usually this means by the time I get around to doing it (ie: when my sister looks at them and yells at me for it), it takes far too long to get them done than if I just washed them weekly.  I’ll work on it I promise.
  4. Checking The Expiration Dates on my products                                                        There are expiration dates on make up!  Ok, ok, I know make up has expiration dates but usually I don’t even think about it.  I usually don’t throw things away until either I notice a weird smell or my sister goes through my collection and starts weeding out the bad stuff.  Mainly because most of the make up I buy is expensive brands and some that are said to be really good dupes for them to see how they compare.  But I really don’t want throw out my expensive pallets and lipsticks.  Usually the ones that I actually look at are the mascaras or eye liners… mainly because those go into my eyes and the last thing I want is an infection in my eyes.  Again this is something that I’ll be working on because I logically know that using expired products is horrible for my skin.
  5. Highlighting and Contouring                                                                                          This is relatively new for me to figure out… I had no idea what any of this was until I started watching YouTube a few years ago.  While I think I’ve kinda gotten a handle on the highlighting, I’m not sure I’ll ever figure out the reason behind contouring your face (I’m not even gonna mention everything else I’ve seen on YouTube that has to do with contouring!).  I usually have 3 go to make up days… my “oh crap I’m late day”, my “ok I’ve got 5 minutes I can spare day” and my “I’ve got an hour to spare lets do this day”.  However, none of these days have anything to do with contouring my face… mainly because I really don’t want to look like a clown who tried way to hard a failed.
Questions of the Day: So what did you think?  What are some beauty/makeup things that you suck at? Comment down below.

Book Genie Wishes

Hey Guys!

So I’m probably the nerdiest girl out there for even thinking of books when it comes to a genie granting wishes, but what can I say… I love books and to read!  I’m not even sure that I would need 3 wishes but I’ll give it a go.

  • A library like Belle’s in Beauty and the Beast! Either the one from the cartoon or the one from the new movie… I’m not too picky!
  • Ok, so this one isn’t really for me but it’s something that I would love to happen.  That every child who wants to read and have books can have that opportunity.str2_shgreadswish_sharmilla_4_abby
  • That I can go to one of the author’s conventions or book signings.               The one chance that I had that I could go to, I had a family emergency and wasn’t able to go.  It’s very seldom that I find any authors come to south Texas… or even the major cities in Texas that I can make it to.

What are your 3 book Genie wishes?  Comment down below.

My Favorite Songs Playlist

Hey Guys!

This is one of those questions that could be a doozy… especially for me, because I don’t like any particular genre.  If I like the song it’ll end up one of my many different playlists.

I guess the first thing I’ll do is which playlists I have… (don’t judge)

  • Abbi Glines Songs
  • Glee Favorites
  • My Music
  • My New Music (mind you I haven’t updated this list in a few years)
  • Niki and Gabi Songs
  • Pitch Perfect Soundtrack
  • Pitch Perfect 2 Soundtrack
  • The Fault in Our Stars Soundtrack

Recently I’ve been listening to a lot of Glee songs… not for any particular reason but I like the way they sang them.  Abbi Glines is another of my favorite authors and she had songs written for a few of her books.  Each of those songs are sang and available on either itunes or soundcloud.

My Superpower Wishlist

Hey guys!

So I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only person who has every wished to have some sort of superpowers at one point or another in their lives.  There have definitely been times that I wished I could do something extraordinary.  So I’ve made a list of my top superpower’s I wish I could have.

  • Water Breathing – I’ve never been one of those girls who wanted to be a mermaid, but when I was younger there was a show that I loved to watch called Ocean Girl.  Mind this was released in the early 1990s so it’s been a while and I’m pretty sure that it’s hard to find the show, but it was amazing.  I’m not entirely sure that the girl in the show breathed under water, but it looked like she did as she swam with whales and dolphins.
  • Time Travel – As a history lover and a history major I would love to be able to travel to the time periods that I love to study and enjoy history as it is happening.
  • Time Manipulation –  Have you ever done something that you suddenly wish you hadn’t… Yeah me too.  This would an amazing power to have, if not a scary one.
  • Elemental Powers – This one is a dream leftover from my love of X-men.  I loved Storm, but I thought being able to control the elements would be amazing!
  • Animal Speak –  I’m a huge lover of fantasy books, and one of my all time favorite series is the Immortals Series by Tamora Pierce.  In it the main character Daine has a way with animals… all to soon this affinity turns to speech with animals.  I just think that this would be an amazing power to have.

National Sibling Day

Hey Guys!

So today is National Sibling Day… that being said I won’t be posting a picture of all of them… mainly because I don’t have 1 picture of all 7 together… and I don’t have their permission to do so anyway.  That being said I found some amusing Sibling Pictures on google that I thought I’d share in honor of today.

2133 giraffes                                                                                                                            I actually posted this one last year!

What’s On My iPhone

Hey Guys!

Well a while back I did a post on my favorite apps and I mentioned that if ya’ll wanted I would do a what’s on my iPhone post.  I got a response saying yes… so this is what’s on my iPhone 7 Plus phone.

  • Just like any other phone I have most of my apps in folders…. this keeps me from having not only a cluttered phone screen where I can’t find what I’m looking for.
  • The top row of folders just has my weather apps and all the stock standard ones that are always on the phone.
  • My next folder is my photography folder.  This is where I put anything that has to do with pictures or editing pictures… oh and snapchat.
  • Next is my Social media folder… which is pretty random but that’s just what goes there.
  • As you can probably already tell I’m a huge book reader.  So it would stand to reason that I would have a folder just for my books.
  • One of the things I do constantly is check my email, so having them in their own little folder is my way of finding the app when I need it.

img_0044

  • This is my games folder… I’m constantly changing up what I’m playing but these are the ones that pretty much stay in it.
  • Next is my adult folder… meaning my banking apps and my bills apps
  • Not gonna lie… While I have 5 pages in this folder, most of these apps don’t get used on a regular basis.  But every time I delete one I end up needing it soon after, so I just keep them all.
  • This is the folder that I use for the apps that I use for school.  In some way or another I use these apps for my school work.
  • This folder I use for any app that has to do with traveling… It’s useful to have, I’m not saying that I use these everyday, but they do get use at least every month or so…except for postmates.  I haven’t made it yet to a city that has one yet.
  • Shopping… need I say more.  These are the apps that I use to online shop or to look for things when I need them.
  • These are my food apps.  Each one helps keep my rewards for each in one place so that I can keep track of them.
  • I have these apps under lifestyle but they really could go under random.

img_0020-1

  • My fitness apps … I can honestly say that I don’t use these all that often but I do use them on occasion.
  • I’ve always been one who if they could pay less for the same product I would totally jump on it.  These are the coupon apps that I love.
  • It hasn’t even been a year for me since I converted to Catholicism so in this app I use the apps to keep up with the prayers that I haven’t memorized yet and to find churches when I go out of town.
  • This folder is on the last page of my phone… mainly because this is where I keep the games that my cousin and nephew are allowed to use on my phone.  If I don’t keep it separate then they get into all my apps.

Well these are all the apps that are on my new iPhone 7plus.  Question of the day: What kind of phone do you have and what are your ride or die apps? Comment down below.

Moth To A Flame Cover Reveal

Hey Guys!

Well Cambria Hebert is up to it again! We have a new book coming to us soon.  This one is a stand alone novel that isn’t part of her other book series.  But it is no less exciting to know that we’ll soon have something new to read from her.

Moth to a Flame
Cambria Hebert
Publication date: Spring 2017
Genres: Adult, Romance, Suspense (Stand-alone)

The only thing drawn to her more than danger is him…

Danger isn’t Zoey’s middle name. But it is something she can’t forget, something she’s reminded of every time she looks in the mirror. For those reasons, Zoey has become an expert at creating the perfect illusion. Her ability to fool the eye, to create truth where there was previously none makes her the best in the business.

Working as a makeup and special effects artist for Hollywood combines her two life must-haves: her passion for makeup and hiding in plain sight.

It also doesn’t hurt that she’s safe within the heavily secured and secret studio sets, away from the public eye.

Then her perfect job becomes her perfect nightmare.

Not only does her illusion slip with the blast of icy water, but it does so in front of the country’s biggest action hero and the gossipiest of celebrity TV shows.

At first, Zoey thinks danger hasn’t caught up to her and the worst thing about her mishap is the world’s most perfect man sees her in all her not-so-perfect glory.

Until a series of unexplained “accidents” begins on set.

That’s when Zoey knows.

Danger has caught up to her… and this time she fears death has, too.

End of Month Wrap Up: March

Hey Guys

This is my end of month Wrap up for March.  On here you will see what’s been going on in my life, what I’m reading both for school and for fun, what I’m listening to and what is on my to read list. I’ll also be posting a list with what I’ve posted in the past month to give you an idea of what you might have missed.

Well this month has been one heck of a month.  From my busy work and school schedule to me getting injured it’s been hectic to say the least.

Going on in my Life:

  • My car broke… Word to the wise… never drive your vehicle if it’s overheating.  You chance having your head gasket blow and water get into your oil.

Below is a list of things that I’ve read, am reading, am listening to, and is on my to read list.  I’ve also linked each one so that they are easier for you to find.

Books I’ve Read in March:

I’m sad to say that this month has been light on reading with the exception of my school books. 😦

What I’m Currently Reading:

  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling: This will probably be on the list for a while, because I’m reading this to my little cousin a chapter at a time before bedtime. (might be longer now that she’s moved away, and I only see her every now and then)  She’s enjoying it, so I don’t mind going slow.  I love it because this is the new edition with all the pictures for her to look at while I read.
  • Scrappy Little Nobody by Anna Kendrick
  • #Nerd by Cambria Hebert
  • Fifty Shades of Grey by EL James
  • Breathe by Abbi Glines

Books I’m Reading For School: (This is this months book list for my Grad School masters program)  These books haven’t been to bad overall, especially when comparing them to last semesters list.

  • Invisible Hands
  • The Strange Career of William Ellis: The Texas Slave who became a Mexican Millionaire by Karl Jacoby
  • Twenty Poems That Could Save America – This one and the next one are books that we are reading chapters from
  • Serious Daring

What I’m Listening to (Audible): (this depends on my mood)

What I Finished on Audible:

  • #Junkie by Cambria Hebert
  • #Rev by Cambria Hebert

I’m not going to lie, with the exception of every now and again, I’ve been listening to YouTube videos while I drive. :/

To Read list:

I have to say this list isn’t getting any smaller… I’m so tired!  I just want to sleep for a week and not do anything.  Not gonna happen because now I’ve started up with my other job again.   :/  I can’t wait until the end of the semester!

Favorite Blog posts that I’ve discovered this month:

This month has been light on my reading what I want… mainly because I have so many projects coming up due for school.  So once again I’ve got a backlog of blogs to catch up on.

Blogging

My Posts this month:

  • Read Across America Day: My Favorite Kids Books
  • #Rev Review
  • End of Month Wrap UP: February
  • I Unplugged for the weekend… This is what happened
  • Reminder Blog: It’s Daylight Savings this weekend
  • These are my Babies: Bella and Rose
  • #Swag Review
  • Happy St. Paddy’s Day
  • People to Follow: Instagram
  • The Goodreads Book Tag

You can find any of these on my main page and scrolling through my posts!

Well… I lapsed on a few of my planned posts… mainly because I’ve lost track of my days and I didn’t have them completed when they were supposed to be posted.  It’s been a hectic month for me.  I’ve also had a lot going on at home and just couldn’t find the time to get the post done.  I hope ya’ll have enjoyed the blog posts that I’ve created for you and will enjoy the ones to come.

Also just for fun I thought I’d show ya’ll some of my pictures from Snapchat that I loved this month!

Until Next Time!
