Making decisions I regret is basically a hobby.
So I guess it really wasn’t that surprising when I went out on a date with an Elite.
And then he tried to assault me.
I might be small, but I’m not meek. I fought him off… then went straight to the dean.
He didn’t believe me. No one does.
And now my date from hell is in revenge mode, and I somehow end up in the campus pool.
Did I mention I can’t swim?
Lucky for me, a knight in shining armor saves me from drowning.
Except he’s not wearing shining armor. He’s naked.
And he’s also Elite.
Seriously, what is up with these Elite swimmers?
Of course, I have no intention of ever seeing his very good-looking, naked highness again.
Elite obviously can’t be trusted.
Until he wraps me in his hoodie and promises to believe me.
Now I’m drowning again—but this time in his enigmatic cobalt eyes and addictive touch.
My only oxygen is him. I think I maybe could fall in love.
But will he keep his promise when I tell him the truth about his teammate?
Or will trusting Ryan with my heart and my life be just another decision to regret?

THE REVIEW

Boy did it take me a bit to get my thoughts together for this review. There isn’t a book that Cambria has written that I wouldn’t read, and don’t get excited over. I haven’t had a book hangover this bad since I read #Nerd for the first time or Avalanche, possibly even Ivory White. But WET is giving me so many feelings I’m not sure what to do while we wait for the next one. Cambria’s books tend to get me to the point of obsession, I recommend them to all my friends and get them just as obsessed, (Just so I have someone to talk to about it!) and this one is no exception. I was texting two of my friends throughout my reading it, (don’t worry… I didn’t give any spoilers… they would have killed me!) and have them so excited for the release on the 12th.

For any of you #Nerd fans, watch out! WET has many similarities that I love, and that makes you fall for the characters that much faster. It was almost like being back at Alpha U, only we’re at Westbrook University instead. It actually made the way that Ryan and Rory fall for each other just seem right, because it was like witnessing the love of our Hashtag family that we all know and love … except we are just now meeting them.

The challenges that this couple has to face and deal with are relevant for today’s topics, with them fighting favoritism of the “in” people on campus, the discrimination that is seen as well as the inequalities seen between the sexes. That our couple meets under the most chance of circumstances, (He is quite literally in the shower and naked when they meet!) is what sets them on their path of going from strangers to lovers in this fast-paced suspenseful read.

Not gonna lie, I didn’t think anyone could replace Romeo or Braeden, but boy do Ryan and Jamie come up and match them both for intensity, especially Ryan with his love for his girl. He’s sexy, protective, possessive, and an alpha in every sense of the word just as Rome and B are.

Rory is a loner with a sweet and spicy attitude who is a photographer for the school paper, (I think she might be my favorite! I’m a photographer too!) Her brain-to-mouth filter seems to be broken, which makes some of these moments so great to read happen. She has no use for stupid people and has a sense of right and wrong that gets her into trouble, as she fights for what is right and doesn’t do the easy thing. Which she no doubt gained by being the daughter of two lawyers.

This love story is so hot and intense that I didn’t even notice that it happens so fast, a very true insta-love, but I’m ok with that because they are meant to be. Ryan knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to fight for it, even if it could cost him. (Not that they’d be stupid enough to let him go.) She is his before we even hit the quarter mark and it is awesome. And boy those scenes are steamy, have a drink handy cause you will need it to cool down!

Be ready for getting all the feels with this one, because they will be coming on.

Now for the trigger warning. A very central theme of this story is the mistreatment and abuse of women. Cambria mentions in the blurb that this book contains mentions of assault and rape that could be triggering to some readers. I love that Cambria is able to bring to light themes that are so important and relevant, especially in today’s climate. That there are so many out there that would disregard someone because the accused is “popular” is not right. All women have voices that deserve to be heard, and there is a difference between listening to what is going on and actually hearing it.

WET is a must-read for the summer, fall, for pretty much any time, I’ve read it a couple of times since I received it, and could not put it down. I can’t wait until we get more of Jamie and Madison and Wes.

Cambria thank you for bringing us another group that we can fall in love with.

If you haven’t read it go order your copy, and get ready for a WET and wild ride!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

Until Next Time!

Tabby

And Now… I’ll leave you with this teaser!

EXCERPT

“Aurora Coin, who goes by Rory but hates it when I call her that, so I call her Carrot, which she says she also hates but really secretly loves.”
I rolled my eyes. Why is he so charming?
“Who is also really good with a camera, grew up in Chicago, acts like a rottweiler even though she’s a chihuahua, uses all my shampoo, and insults my Jeep and my clothes.”
“Are you trying to ask me out or make a bullet point presentation?” I wondered.
He mock-gasped, pressing a hand to his chest. “I’m being romantic.”
“Some of these things sound like insults,” I pointed out.
He chuckled, and damn, if it didn’t make my stomach flutter. Shuffling forward, he reached for my hand, entwining our fingers. “But they’re not. They’re just some of the reasons I want you. You and only you. Be my girlfriend. My only.”
